Possible Topic for Project

Ok, I think I now know what I want to base my honours project on. Animation based on behavioural and congnitive modelling...basically, making NPC's for games that can think and act for themselves, based on actions within their environment, withe the ulitmate aim being to create an NPC tht can "learn" and act based on this new knowloedge.













This has been used in games over recent years (Black and White being one of the more obvious ones) and I would like to see how far this can be taken. Is it only feasible to have one NPC acting like this? Or can whole communities "think" for themselves?


I find the topic interesting and it sounds challenging enough to keep me busy, without being to strained (hopefully). I've found a few online books on the subject so I read over them in the next few days to see if they'll be of any use to me.

I'm still not sure what the question I'm going to try to answer will be, but that should become more apparent over the next few weeks depending on whether or not this concept is accepted or not.
